FUMESIL® is a natural pozzolan and super fined micro silica powder which is used in concrete to increase its strength properties. VB Coir Products is one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of Micro Silica. Micro silica is manufactured from Rice Husk ash and Quartz. It is basically mixture of Sio2 and Si with black or grey color. The particle size is relatively small, and sio2 is also amorphous. It is 50 to 100 times finer than average cement or fly ash particles.
Micro silica when added to concrete helps in increasing the compressive strength, bond strength and abrasion resistance. It is one of the best option to reduce porosity and permeability of the concrete. In coastal environments, it reduces the influx of chloride ions into concrete by reducing permeability and protects reinforcing steel from corrosion. Because of its fineness and lower specific gravity than cement, it helps in obtaining a lighter weight concrete mix with effectively same strength. It helps in blocking pores of fresh concrete thereby trapping water inside and reducing the bleeding.
